Hummus without tahini

   Hummus is a Middle Eastern dip or spreads recipe. Mainly used in wraps or sandwiches or as dips with chips.  Hummus is made from chickpea, olive oil, lemon, and garlic. I like hummus without tahini as it is a quick and super creamy recipe. 


 Is hummus taste good without tahini ?

   Hummus tastes so nice with tahini. Tahini is one of the important ingredients of hummus but still, I personally don’t like the zesty and tangy flavor of tahini so I skip tahini and make hummus taste like heaven for my family. We love the rich flavor of chickpea nicely blend with olive oil and garlic. I tried a variety of combinations with hummus recipes but finally, for my family, I finalize a simple and quick hummus recipe without tahini.

Make hummus without tanini   

 Hummus is just a 5-minute dip recipe. Blending is only an important step to make a perfect hummus recipe. Continues 1 to 2 minutes we need to blend chickpea in a food processor for smooth and creamy hummus.

Canned chickpea hummus without tahini

    There is a big confusion between canned chickpea or chickpea are good for hummus. For quick and instant hummus  I prefer canned chickpea as it saves time for soaking and cooking chickpea. Canned chickpea are perfectly cooked as it saves time to make a hummus recipe.

Strain canned chickpea.

Add chickpea to a food processor.

Pour aquafaba or boiled chickpea water into a food processor.

Blend chickpea in a food processor or blender for about 3 to 4 minutes.

Add hot water to a food processor.

Blend for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add olive oil in food processor.

Add cumin powder and salt to a food processor.

Blend for 1 minute.

Add lemon juice to a food processor. And, blend it nicely.

Lastly, add minced garlic.

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Food processor


  • 1 cup Canned chickpea
  • 1/4 cup Aquafaba
  • 3 tbsp Hot water
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • Chili flakes for garnish


  • In a strainer , strain canned chickpea .
  • Add chickpea in food processor or blender .
  • Add aquafaba or boiled chickpea water.
  • Blend for 3 minutes until chickpea are smoothly blend.
  • Add hot water and blend for 2 more minutes.
  • Add olive oil .
  • Add cumin powder and salt.
  • Blend for 1 minute.
  • Add lemon juice and blend together.
  • Lastly , add minced garlic and blend for 2 -3 minutes.
  • Until , nice creamy hummus is ready.
  • Consume within 2-3 days.
