Gulab Jamun always makes a mouthwatering dessert in every Indian family. My family loves this sweet too. We usually buy a whole box full of Gulab Jamuns from halwai shops before any occasion or festival. This dessert never goes out of style.
During one such family occasion, I thought of trying out a simple Gulab Jamun recipe at home. The end result was surprising. All the Gulab Jamuns were fluffy and completely drenched in syrup, just the way it is available in halwai shops. I was amazed at how easy the recipe was and how quickly it can be prepared

Sugar Syrup
1. To prepare the sugar syrup, add sugar and water in a pan.
2. Heat it while stirring, till the sugar dissolves.
3. Now add green cardamom and let it simmer. Sugar syrup is ready.
Gulab Jamun balls
4. Take fresh khoya and knead it with hands to soften it.
5. When the khoya softens, add grated paneer to it and knead again.
6. Add semolina to the dough and again knead it to mix everything well.
7. Then add plain flour to the dough and knead again to make it smooth.
8. You can add a spoon of water if the dough dries up while kneading. Soft dough makes soft gulan jamuns.
9. Finally add baking powder to the dough and knead it again.
10. Divide the dough into equal portions and make soft balls for gulab jamun
Final Gulab Jamun
11. In a pan heat ghee until it melts.
12. Then fry the gulab jamun balls until they turn evenly golden brown
13. Now drop each ball in the sugar syrup and let it rest for some time to soak the syrup in.
14. When the Gulab jamuns swell up, they are ready to be served

Equipment
- 2 pans
- 2 bowls
- 1 Ladle
- 1 Strainer
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Khoya
- 1/4 cup Paneer
- 2 tbsp Semolina
- 2 tbsp Plain flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking powder
- Ghee for frying
- 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1 1/4 Cup Water
- 4 Green cardamom
Instructions

- Heat it while stirring, till the sugar dissolves.
- Now add green cardamom and let it simmer. Sugar syrup is ready.
