Khoya barfi is a very tasty and healthy dessert made at home. This recipe is made with 5 simple ingredients only. You can make it at festivals or celebrations.
I have a special place for mawa or khoya desserts in my heart, I love to make different sweets or desserts for festivals at home. I believe they are more tasty and hygienic, and I also use nuts in these desserts to make them healthy also. Khoya barfi is one such dessert I tried on Diwali and everyone loved it.

I usually make barfis at home because they are easy and tasty. Barfi is a popular Indian mithai or sweet for festivals. It is mainly served to welcome guests during Diwali or Holi. The mawa or khoya gives a soft creamy texture to the Barfi that will melt in your mouth.
You can try this recipe at any festival. I would personally suggest making them on Diwali as Barfi is a popular Diwali sweet. The recipe is very easy. You will need 5 ingredients only to make these barfis at home. You can also store them for a few days if you are planning to make a large batch as I do.

Step by Step photo guide of how to make Mawa barfi recipe
1. In a pan heat some ghee and add khoya
2. Then add sugar and mix everything well. You will notice the mixture is liquefied.
3. Now add cardamom powder to the mixture.
4. Also add dry fruits and stir rapidly to mix everything. There should be no lumps.
5. After Barfi batter starts leaving the side of the pan, you can switch off the flame and take the batter in a tin.
6. Spread the batter gently and evenly on the tin. If the batter is too thick add some milk or if it is too runny add some khoya to it. Leave it for a couple of hours to cool down and settle.
7. After it is set, take the chunk out and cut into small pieces like Barfi.
9. You can give any shape you like. Your Khoya Barfi is ready to serve.

- Leave t for a coup of hours to cool down and settle.
- After it is set, take the chunk out and cut into small pieces like Barfi. You can give any shape you like. Your Khoya Barfi is ready to serve.
