Bombay Halwa is a famous dessert of Maharashtra. The sweet recipe is made using cornflour and almonds. It doesn’t need any artificial flavor or preservative. This recipe makes Haldiram style Bombay Halwa at home in a short time.

Ingredients

Instructions
In a bowl add one cup of cornflour and one cup of water. Mix to make a smooth slurry.
In a pan add sugar and water. Heat it to form a thick syrup.
Now, gradually add the corn slurry to the syrup while continuously stirring it.
As the syrup thickens and changes color, add ghee to it and mix well.
Keep adding dollops of ghee and stirring it till you get a smooth halwa like consistency.
Now add two drops of food color and mix everything properly.
Dash in some chopped almond and stir it to mix.
Now transfer the halwa in a tray. Rest it for at least 3 hours to set in.
After 3 hours remove the halwa and cut it into desired shapes to serve.
