Instant Khaman Dhokla

Dhokla is famous regional food in western India. It is made with all-natural ingredients and that makes its healthy. Khaman Dhokla has a soft and spongy texture that your kids will love to eat. These Dhoklas are served with chutney after the temperature in flavored oil.
Dhokla can be enjoyed as snacks also It is made with chickpea flour or besan which controls hunger for a long time. when your family craves something too much on for snacks you can serve these Dhoklas instantly.
The recipe I am sharing is so easy that you can make it almost every day without much hassle. It barely takes around 30 minutes to serve hot spongy Dhokla and the ingredients used here are also available in every Indian kitchen.
Two Steps in making Khaman dhokla recipe
The recipe involves 2 separate steps. The first method is for making the dhokla, and the other for the tempering of the dhoklas.
Instant Dhokla making is to add all ingredients to make dhokla batter and then cook it and Tadka or tempering making of Dhokla is to add excellent Delicious texture and taste to dhokla.

Step-by-Step photo guide of how to make instant khaman dhokla at home
Method for Dhokla:
Take besan or chickpea flour in a bowl.
Add a pinch of turmeric to it.
Add some sugar to the same bowl
Then add some salt to it.
Mix it properly
Now add some water to the mixture
Stir continuously for 2 to 3 minutes to make a smooth batter.
Stir till it becomes a free flow batter
Now add baking soda to the smooth batter.
Add the lemon juice to the batter
Stir immediately and completely mix everything. The better you mix, the softer the dhoklas will be.
Now pour the smooth batter in a baking tin.
Place the tray in a pan with some water in it. This will help the steaming process.
Cover the lid and let it steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
Tadka and final touch for Dhokla
Meanwhile, let’s prepare the tadka or tempering for the dhoklas.
Heat some oil in a pan.
Add some mustard seeds to the hot oil.
Then add cumin seeds to it.
As the dry spices sputter add 8 to 10 curry leaves to the oil.
Also add green chilies cut lengthwise from the middle.
Now pour some water to the tempering.
Add sugar to the mixture.
Also add some salt and stir the mixture.
Once the mixture starts boiling you can switch off the flame.
Our Tadka or tempering is ready
Now, check the dhoklas. If they are nice and fluffy, your dhoklas are ready for tempering. Insert a toothpick to check if your dhoklas are done. If the tooth pick comes out clean, you can remove the tray.
Now pour the tadka on the dhokla and Let the dhokla soak the tempering for about 10 to 15 minutes.
You can shape the dhoklas bu cutting out small portions with a knife. Here I have made square dhoklas.
Now you can serve hot spongy Dhoklas for breakfast.

Ingredients

- 2 cup Besan
- 1 1/2 cup Water
- 1 tsp Sugar
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tbs Lemon juice
